Prof. M. Eswaramoorthy

Prof. Eswaramoorthy Muthusamy is a Professor specializing in Chemistry, with extensive academic and research experience spanning several decades. Born on June 05, 1967, he is currently associated with the Chemistry and Physics of Materials Unit (CPMU) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Jakkur, Bangalore.

He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Bharathidasan University, Trichy, followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Chemistry from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, both with First Class distinction. He earned his Doctorate in Chemistry from Anna University, Chennai, establishing a strong foundation in advanced chemical sciences.

Prof. Muthusamy has further enriched his academic career through postdoctoral research and prestigious fellowships at leading national and international institutions, contributing significantly to the field of chemistry and materials science. His academic journey reflects consistent excellence, commitment to research, and dedication to higher education.

Research Highlights

Research projects in the lab are centered upon the development of structured materials useful in industrially relevant catalytic processes, electrocatalysis, electrochemical energy storage, membrane-based gas separation and drug delivery. Furthermore, efforts are made towards the development of nanomaterials, composites and porous materials adopting new synthetic methodologies allowing the structural fine tuning at the nanoscale, paving the way for structured materials rendered useful for a variety of applications.
